Famous Guitarists: Eric Clapton

I believe that everybody have heard the song “Tears in Heaven” before. And, today I’m going to introduce the songwriter of it and some story about him.

Eric Clapton is an English guitarist who is now aged 70 but is still active in the music circle. He got his first guitar at 13, learning to play it by following some instructive tapes, but soon he felt frustrated and almost gave up. However, two years later, he picked up again and practiced long hours every day. He would record the clips he play, and then listened to it carefully; if it didn’t sound good, he would practice again until he made it perfect.

Eric Clapton was heavily influenced by blues then, and started to form his unique blues style of himself.

Eric Clapton joined the “Yardbirds” at 1963, and then joined the Bluesbreaker at 1965. His performance at the latter one got great success after released an influential album, and some of his fans even painted the slogan “Clapton is God” at the subway stations.
